It aint over till it’s over
In the 2015 I started cycling from Amsterdam to Olympia, the origin of the (authentic) Olympics. Goal: Raise awareness and financial means for a project called Estrela da Favela inside one of Rio’s favelas where I was working at the time. Though, after coming back home, it didn’t feel finished yet.
I continued cycling (L.A. to Rio de Janeiro) to the 2016 Olympics. Goal: More awareness about favelas in Rio de Janeiro through media exposure and raise more money for Estrela da Favela. The final amount for Estrela da Favela was € 7123 and over a million people were directly confronted with the story through media. Coming back home it didn’t feel finished yet, a strong(er) feeling inside of me.
Lessons learned cycling 10 months in Latin America. Things change, I change, reality changes. Is it possible to take these lessons to a higher level and share it with others? How can I connect and create awareness in an overheated world? What is necessary to collectively change in making a better world and how can I contribute? Connecting & discovering are the back bone of a cycling journey –> AROUND THE WORLD.
