Pregnant or not. Work.
A Dutch powergirl cycled with me in Nepal to raise money and awareness for a local project. A good project doing important work for women. Women who need support!
CYCLING FOR WOMEN IN NEPAL
Cycling in Nepal. Letting go, hit the ‘reset button’, get inspired, meet new people en crossing personal borders. But, more importantly, help a project that does great work for women and families in Nepal. Nepal is a country that has history, strong cultural values and traditions. There is also poverty and women – especially in the mountains – have to work hard and they daily cope with inequality which is considered normal and part of mountain culture.
The project Women for Women is a registered Dutch / Nepali NGO and aims to help the women of Nepal who need support. Women for Women helps in education, gives medical help and works on prevention for women who have to do strong work during and just after pregnancy. There’s more they do, so make sure to go to their website
Cycling through Nepal has been an adventure. Cycling the Himalayas, off road, crazy traffic, cold nights and making long days wasn’t easy but were rewarding. In the end we raised €1500 for the women in one of my favourite countries ever. Our story got published in one of the biggest newspapares of the country and the powergirl from Holland had an incredible experience. I think that’s all pretty cool now, but I already know that when I look back in a while it will make me proud.
